Custom Stance/Conversion Tutorial

Description

This is for anyone who want's to learn of an easy way to make custom stances. :D I don't think I gotta really explain much through here, I think it speaks for itself. .w. But I'll do short steps.

(Also, these steps are in the perspective that you're making a single frame pose. This is a five frame pose. I'd say the only thing you should know is that you should try and make the animation itself look natural. try to line up the sprites so their feet are all on the same point of elevation, and work from there.)

1. Make the outline for the stance you want first. This makes it really easy to work on the details you wanna add later

2. Start adding in basic details for the body, like shoes and color. Don't worry about the hands our shading just yet.

3. Now you're gonna wanna do the hands. Don't sprite the arms for the hands yet, just place them where you'll want for each pose of the stance.

4. Start outlining the arms for the hands. Doing this after placing the hands helps you make looking arms that bend naturally for the pose.

5. Add the finishing details, like shading, clothes, etc.

6. (optional)Hair/Quill flow: Take any of the heads from the pose you made that are different. (for me, I only used one head for the entire set of poses, so I only need to grab one.) Copy and paste those heads under each pose, and edit each of the heads slightly. This is where you need to know how your pose will animate, so you can make the flow correctly.

So that's it. : D It's just ment to explain the basics of making a custom stance. The rest will be up to you.

The character was made by me.

Do not steal.

Nicely done tutorial! I may keep this in mind when I try converting some of Dio's poses from Heritage of the Future to work with Sonic or Shadow
